Fr. Damaskinos Voliotis: A missionary soultranslated

Father Damaskinos Voliotis came from the heroic Asprogeia of Kastoria. He left for Australia as a young man and when he returned to Greece he was fortunate enough to be spiritually reborn by the great Elder of Kastoria blessed Sevastianos Stephanopoulos. Father Sevastianos had then founded the two Monasteries, the female one of Agios Nikolaos Tsirilovou and the male one of Agia Paraskevi Vasiliados.
He was a guide of Fr. Sevastianos and lived through the series of his Elder from an anti-monastic spirit, which prevailed at that time and reacted to the arrival of monks in the monasteries.
He also experienced spiritual orphanhood as Fr. Sevastianos fell asleep shortly in 1973. This cost the neophot Dimitris Voliotis, who with the actions of the blessed Pausanias Koutlemanis and Stergios Sakkos entered the STAVROS Brotherhood in Athens, which was founded by the new Confessor Augustinos Metropolitan of Florini.
He studied at the night Church School in Athens and in 1983 was ordained a priest by Makaristos Florinis Augustinos. He suffered unjust slander from the Philoscopians.
