August 14, 2026 · 1 min read

On the occasion of the Despotic Feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior, the Solemn Vespers Service was chanted on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi Agrapidias Kalamos, Lefkada, and on the morning of Thursday, August 6, 2026, the Solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated. Both the Holy Vespers Service and the Solemn Divine Liturgy were performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Lefkada and Ithaca Mr. Theofilos as Elder, since during the period of the fifteenth of August there is no permanent clergyman on the island, under the guidance of the Most Reverend Deacon Father Seraphim Pergaris.

Before the dismissal of the Mystery of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Theofilos preached the divine word taking the occasion from the Gospel reading of the day and then wished a good fifteenth of August by distributing the blessed antigift to the pious congregation.
