September 23: Saint Tycho the Saint celebratestranslated

Today, Wednesday, September 23, our Holy Orthodox Church celebrates the wonderful event of the capture of the Holy Forerunner by the barren Elizabeth and honors the memory of the faithful brothers Xanthippi and Polyxenes and the martyrs Peter and Anthony. Also, for the first time after his inscription in the Hagiological Deltas by the Holy and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the memory of Saint Tycho of the Saint, spiritual father of Saint Paisios, is being honored.  St. Tycho was born in Russia, in Novia Michaloska in 1884 and ended his life on Mount Athos in 1968. On Mount Athos, his first penance was the Burazeri Cell, where he remained for five years. Because there was no peace in this from the many Russian pilgrims, he took a blessing and went to Karoulia and there he practiced for fifteen years. The whole time in Karoulia was spent with hard fights. He diligently strived to become an Angel internally and not only externally with the Angelic Shape.
