Ierapytnis Kyrillos: To entrust our existence to Christtranslated

On Sunday 9th of Matthew, August 2, 2026, the feast of the Collection of the Relics of the Holy First Martyr and Archdeacon Stephen, Rev. Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Sitia, Mr. Kyrillos officiated at the procession of Orthros and then officiated and preached the divine word at the Holy Parish Church of the Holy Cross of the city of Ierapetra, where at the end the four-day memorial service of Blessed Ekaterina Mandourarakis took place. In his sermon Rev. Metropolitan Mr. Kyrillos referred to the messages of the Gospel reading of the day, in which the Evangelist Matthew records the event when the disciples of Christ found themselves with the boat in the middle of the stormy lake. As he pointed out, our life, just like that of Christ's disciples, is not always calm and unchanging, but sometimes like the sea it raises its waves to swallow us.
Concluding, His Holiness urged us to entrust our existence to Christ, listening to His words: "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid", and to feel His presence, so that we can get courage and strength to overcome the storms, shocks, trials, sorrows, obstacles and all its impasses...
