The Full Moon of August in Monuments, Museums and Archaeological Sites 2026translated

The Ministry of Culture is again organizing the August Full Moon events in 2026, under the coordination of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, on Friday August 28, 2026, offering the public unique evenings of culture under the light of the August moon. On the night of the Full Moon, 126 archaeological sites, historical sites, monuments and museums across the country will welcome visitors with free admission, offering a unique experience of getting to know our cultural heritage, under the light of the August moon.

As part of the celebration, events will take place at 61 archaeological sites, monuments and museums, while a further 65 sites will remain open to the public with free entry from 19:30/20:00 to 23:00/24:00.

This year's event is not limited to the night of the Full Moon, but includes events that will take place from August 26, 27, 29 and 30.

Theatrical performances, music and dance events, exhibitions and guided tours make up a rich program of activities, which is implemented by the Services of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural...

This year, 126 places, a very nice number. Will there be something in the Acropolis or in Delphi on August 28, to know in advance? Thanks to the Ministry for opening everything again for free.

Thanks Dušan, 126 places really sounds impressive. There will be a music program in Delphi on the evening of August 28, and the Acropolis will be open for free until midnight, but without a special performance that night. Have you planned to go to any of those places?
