It's good that Metropolitan Bartholomew blessed the market and emphasized unity and cooperation. We also love such autumn markets in Kazan, especially when local bakeries bring their pies and bread. I wonder what traditional Greek dishes were featured this year?

I am glad that Metropolitan Bartholomew bowed and spoke of unity, as befits such a celebration. Here in Sibiu, at the autumn fair in Piața Mare, people come mainly for cheeses and warm pretzels. Does anyone know what traditional Greek specialties they brought to Kilkis this year?

The Metropolitan's point about unity through local trade and culture really hit home. Our parish festival here in Ottawa always brings out the best Greek pastries too – I never miss the koulourakia and the honey-drenched baklava from the church ladies. Wonder if they had any of those at Kilkis this year.

It is good that Bishop Bartholomew performed the consecration and spoke about unity and cooperation - just as it should be at such a fair. Here in Plovdiv, at the autumn fair, people are mostly looking for cheese from the Rhodope Mountains and freshly baked bread. I wonder what traditional Greek things they brought this year – maybe baklava or some kind of olive bread?

Here in Krasnodar, at the autumn fair, the Metropolitan also always blesses it, and then people flock in droves for fresh honey and dried fish. It’s good that Bishop Bartholomew said about unity - without this, no trade will stick together. What Greek sweets were the most popular there this year?
