The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, to the Archbishop of Americatranslated

The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, was welcomed at the seat of the Holy Archdiocese of America in New York by the Most Reverend Archbishop Mr. Elpidophoros, on Monday, September 21, 2026.  The discussion focused on issues concerning Greek-American relations, the Greek diaspora as well as the field of care for the elderly and the disabled. Ms Michailidou is in New York as heads of state, ministers and diplomats gather for the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Archbishop Mr. Elpidophoros shared his impressions from his recent visit to Anchorage, Alaska, where on Saturday, September 19, he inaugurated the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
