Imathia: In Panagia Sumela on August 15th the President of the Republictranslated

In the presence of the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tassoulas, the festivities of the 15th of August will take place in the Monastery of Panagia Soumela, in Kastania Imathia, during which he will be awarded the Grand Cross of the Great Komnenian Emperors of Trebizond. Tomorrow, Friday, the program of events includes the Solemn Polyhieratic Vespers and the procession of the Icon of Panagia Sumela.

On Saturday morning, a Multi-hierarchy Divine Liturgy will be held and after its completion, the icon and Panagia Soumela will be litanized and wreaths will be laid on the bust of Alexander Ypsilantis.

Then there will be an artistic program with the participation of Pontic dance groups.

The festive events are organized by the Holy Pilgrimage and the Association "Panagia Sumela".
