Florinis Irenaios: "Let the new ecclesiastical year be a true new beginning"translated

On the occasion of September 1 and the beginning of the new ecclesiastical year, the Metropolitan of Floris, Prespa and Eordaea, Mr. Irenaios, sends his best wishes and invites the faithful to see this new period as "an opportunity to face ourselves for a while" and to redefine their spiritual orientation. In his message, His Holiness emphasizes the need to remain close to the Church and, through it, close to Christ, underlining that the Church "is not an institution detached from the daily life of man", but "the Body of Christ" and a living society that offers freedom, hope and security.
He makes special reference to the difficulties and inner insecurity of modern man, pointing out that the Church is an "ark of salvation", which accepts man with his weaknesses and wounds and calls him to repentance and transformation. At the same time, he explains that the Church is not only the church, but a "way of life", which is expressed through prayer, worship, forgiveness and the relationship with God and fellow human beings.
