Visit of Alexis Tsipras to the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi (VIDEO)translated

Mount Athos is visited by Alexis Tsipras, twelve years after his first visit to the Athonian State. This time, the former prime minister moves to Perivoli tis Panagia in his new political capacity, as president of the Hellenic Left Alliance (ELAS). Alexis Tsipras arrived on Mount Athos at noon on Thursday, October 1, 2026 and visited the Holy Monastery of Simonos Petra.
"You chant in Simonopetra and it is heard in Hades...", as the verse says and is reproduced in his post by the former Prime Minister, who also notes that "a visit to Mount Athos is always an opportunity that you should not miss. A journey through history, to cultural treasures that have been preserved for centuries, but also to the deepest meaning of human existence."
