Event for the Missing Persons of 1974 in Larnacatranslated

The Commissioner of the Presidency Mr. Marios Hartsiotis attended yesterday and addressed the event for the Missing Persons of 1974, on the occasion of the International Day of Missing Persons, organized by the Larnaca/Ammochostos Provincial Committee of the Cyprus Studies Center. During his speech, the Commissioner of the Presidency referred to the continuous efforts to ascertain the fate of our missing persons, underlining that the State remains firmly committed to the effort to ascertain the fate of the last missing person.

The event was also attended by speakers Mr. Leonidas Pantelidis, Representative of the Greek Cypriot side in the Investigative Committee for the Missing Persons (DIA), Mrs. Maria Kalbourtzi, President of the Panhellenic Committee of Parents and Relatives of Undeclared Detainees and Missing Persons of the Cyprus Tragedy, and Mr. Nikos Sergidis, President of Pancypria Organization of Relatives of Undeclared Prisoners and Missing Persons.

The verification of the fate of each missing person is a debt towards their families, history and our country.
