Different climate in Bulgaria and Greece, shortly before the final agreement on the mutual "deposit" of heirloomstranslated

By Nikolaos Zaimis While in our country the discussions and reactions about the return of only 48 holy relics - for which there is still no official information about which ones they will be - which were stolen during various periods of time in the first half of the 20th century (World War I and II) by the Bulgarian occupation troops in Macedonia and Thrace, in the neighboring country the climate is different.  In fact, the atmosphere is festive. The reason for Greece's decision to hand over to Bulgaria the remains found in the Basilica of Saint Achillios, in 1965, by Professor Nikolaos Moutsopoulos and which have been identified as belonging to Tsar Samuel of Bulgaria, (997-1014), together with the other anthropological material found in a total of four sarcophagi, inside the Basilica.

The relics in question were kept for the last few years in the Museum of Byzantine Culture, in Thessaloniki. Where tomorrow morning, at 10:30, the official signing of the relevant protocols will take place, in the presence of the Prime Ministers of the two countries, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Rumen Radev, followed by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministers of Culture of Greece and...
