On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kiti, Mr. Nektarios, will officiate and preach at the Holy Monastery of Agios Georgios Kontos (big church) in Larnaca. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Most Reverend will lead the annual commemoration of the late Metropolitan of Kitios Nikodimos Mylonas.
Neophytos Mylonas was born in the village of Limnia in the Famagusta District in 1889. He graduated from the Theological School of Athens in 1915. He was ordained a deacon in 1911 by his uncle, the Metropolitan of Kyrenia Kyrillos, and an elder on March 21, 1917, by the Metropolitan of Paphos Iakovos. During his studies in Athens he served as a Deacon at the Holy Church of Agia Marinis in Petralona. On March 25, 1917, the titular Bishop of Salaminos was ordained in the Holy Church of Panagia Faneromeni Nicosia. The ordination was performed by the Archbishop of Cyprus Kyrillos, supported by the Metropolitans of Paphos Iakovos and Kitiou Meletios. On June 13, 1918, he was elected Metropolitan of Kiti. Because of his participation in the uprising of 1931, the English occupying forces exiled him to London and then to Jerusalem, where he fell asleep on September 13, 1937.
