The Archbishop of Australia welcomed the National Water Polo Team of Greecetranslated

On Monday, July 20, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios received the visit of the Greek Men's National Water Polo Team, which is in Sydney to take part in the World Cup Finals (July 22-26, 2026). Flanked by the Theophilist Bishops of Miletoupolis Mr. Iakovos, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Agios Georgios YellowRock, Magnesia Mr. Christodoulos, Chief Secretary of the Holy Provincial Synod, and Mr. Kerasundos Mr. Christophoros, Proto-Secretary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, His Eminence cordially welcomed the federal coach Mr. Theodoros Vlachos, the players and the technical staff of the Hellenic Team at the Holy Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Virgin.

After welcoming and thanking the members of the mission for their visit to the headquarters of the Australian Orthodox Church, he briefly presented to them the history of the I. Cathedral and the ongoing project of its iconography, as well as the history, the administrative structure and the work of the local Church for the prosperous and dynamic Greek Homogeneity of the Fifth Continent.
