Antikythera celebrated the memory of their Patron, Agios Myronostranslated

With brilliant church events, the southern island of Antikythera honored its patron and protector, Saint Hieromartyr Myron the Wonderworker, priestly son of Corinth and martyred in Cyzicus in Asia Minor during the persecution of Emperor Decius in the middle of the 3rd century AD, whose miracle worker Eikos it was found centuries ago on the small island and is kept in its Monastery, built in 1693, which 4 years ago was exemplarily renovated by the noble couple of the National Benefactors Athanasios and Marina Martinou. A lot of people found themselves on the island in those days, both from Attica, and from neighboring areas and mainly neighboring Crete, as the Cretans of the wider province of Kissamos were the ones who found the icon of the Saint in Antikythera and settled there immediately after the fall of Khandaka (1669), creating the island's existing community, which is made up exclusively of Cretan families.
