Dimitriados Ignatios: Camp is a gift in children's livestranslated

On the afternoon of Thursday, July 2, 2026, Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias Mr. Ignatios visited the camp facilities of the Local Church in Agios Lavrentios, where the 1st Camp Period is hosted, in which girls of primary school age participate. The leaders of the camp are the Primate Father Vassilios Adams and Presbytera Lambrini. The children introduced their teams, sang their camp songs and enthusiastically expressed their joy.

In his speech, His Holiness pointed out that "the camp is a gift in the life of the children, because here what they learn in the Catechism and in the life of the Church are put into practice. Through common life, cooperation, prayer and love, they learn to live as Christ wants, creating memories and spiritual experiences that will accompany them throughout their lives."

At the same time, he underlined that "the Saints, whom the camp groups have as patrons, are bright examples of life for everyone, while the spirit of the camp is invited to accompany the children even after the end of the summer, in every moment of their daily life".
