In the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos of the Greek Community of Kinshasa, Metropolitan Theodosiostranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kinshasa, Mr. Theodosios, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos of the Greek Community of Kinshasa on Sunday the 8th of Matthew, July 26, 2026. Archimandrites Fr. Theodoros and Fr. Chrysostomos, as well as Deacons Ierotheos and Aaron, collaborated with His Eminence.
During his sermon, the Metropolitan of Kinshasa referred to a miraculous incident from the martyrdom of Saint Paraskevi. As she noted, when her persecutors led her from the prison to the stadium, they released a huge snake from a cage in order to devour her. Agia, however, was not afraid. She raised her hand and made the sign of the Holy Cross upon the snake, causing it to be immediately cut in two and, after a while, to die before the astonished eyes of the bystanders.
Inspired by this miracle, His Holiness developed two basic spiritual teachings. Initially, he emphasized that inside every person there are "poisonous snakes", i.e. passions and weaknesses, which he is called to kill with repentance and the Sacrament of Holy Confession.
