Kyrillos of Ierapetra at the opening of the International Cultural Festivals of Ierapetra and Crete 2026translated

Rev. Metropolitan of Ierapetra and Sitia Mr. Kyrillos on the evening of Saturday 2 August 2026 attended the Beach Square of Ierapetra and greeted during the ceremony of the official opening of the "13th Ierapetra International Documentary Festival and Awards", the "7th International Film Festival of Crete and Awards" and the "13th Film Academy of Crete". Rev. during his short greeting, he heartily congratulated the Artistic Director and creator of the Ierapetra International Festivals, Mrs. Eleni Vlassi, and wished for many more years for this institution to spread the rich culture and tradition of our country from the southernmost city of Greece to the whole world, transmitting the resounding message of unity and love of the peoples.

The ceremony was also attended by the First Vice-President of the Parliament and Member of Parliament of Lasithi, Mr. Ioannis Plakiotakis, the Deputy Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Ierapetra, Ms. Fotini Perakaki, the emeritus Professor of Linguistics of the EKPA and Member-Secretary of the Academy of Athens, Mr. Christoforos Charalambakis, Members of the Jury, Directors, Artists and many people.
