The events for the 100 years of Evangelistria ended with a musical feasttranslated

With the great anniversary concert "THE PRESENT OF MEMORY - 100 Years Evangelistria, 30 Years Studiantina Nea Ionia Magnesia", the events for the centenary of the refugee parish Evangelistria Nea Ionia Magnesia, were completed on the evening of Tuesday, September 29.  The concert took place with the cooperation of the Municipality of Volos and the Holy Metropolis of Dimitrias and Almyros, with the historical orchestra "Estudiantina of Nea Ionia", which completes 30 years of creative presence this year. Andreas Katsigiannis was the artistic curator and director, while Dimitris Bassis and Christina Maksouri sang, Christos Kaliontzidis played the Pontic lyre and sang, while the newly founded choir of the Municipal Conservatory of Volos participated. The narrator was the actor Spyros Mavidis.

The event was attended by Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias Mr. Ignatios, MP of Magnesia Ms. Zetta Makri, Mayor of Volos Mr. Achilleas Beos and a crowd of people.

"Estoudiantina" and the selected artists took the audience on a journey through the musical paths of the Greek tradition, with an emphasis on Smyrna and the Catastrophe of Asia Minor, singing the pains and woes of the refugee. That's why...
