The third day of the 1st camping period of the Diocese of Thiratranslated

The third day of the first period of the camping fellowships of the Diocese of Thira, on Wednesday July 8, 2026, was full of games, entertainment but also full of spirituality with the children. The morning prayer and breakfast were dedicated to the institution of fasting, where while eating the different-fasting breakfast (butter with honey and juice) all the children asked themselves why we should fast, to fast every Wednesday and Friday in particular, and based on these questions a dialogue developed between the children and the camp headquarters.

Afterwards, the hagiographic report of the day took place, where Ms. Anthi, one of the leaders, developed on the occasion of Saint Nektarios the need to desire holiness in our lives, to love the study of the Holy Bible but also to imitate the examples of our Saints in our lives, so that we too can achieve this great goal: to become saints.

Then, watching a video about the holy neomartyrs, it was emphasized that there are saints from many regions of Greece, but Santorini was nowhere to be seen. So, everyone together promised that they will try hard not to leave the island anymore...
