Kissamos Amfilochios: The Cross of our Christ is the key to heaventranslated

During the great feast of the worldwide Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross of our Lord, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kissamos and Selinos Mr. Amfilochios officiated at Vespers in the chapel of the same name of the Parish of Agios Spyridon, Kissamos, on the beach front, and of the Divine Liturgy he presided over the stock of the Holy Cross, Tavronite, part of the Holy Monastery of Mitros Igapimenou Theologus, Patmos. In his speech he referred to the "mystery of the Cross", noting: "The Cross of the Lord reveals to us, manifests the mystery of Divine love, as God's love for man led to the sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son on the Cross.

A mystery of love and at the same time a mystery of freedom, since God, in freedom, moves and acts in the history of the world and of man. It is not subject to human conventional behaviors. Mystery, through which man is given the possibility to open, to unlock heaven since the Cross of our Christ is the key to heaven. At the same time, it is also a certainty that man is not alone and abandoned in the desert of his life, pain, illnesses, temptations, sorrows and trials.
