The Post-Synodal Residence of Orthodox Clergy at the Monastery of Saint George al-Humayr in Syriatranslated

Under the blessing of the Most Reverend Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, His Beatitude John I, and with the presence of the Very Reverend Bishop of Seleucia, Romanos, the annual second General Residence of the Union of Orthodox Clergy began at the Historical Patriarchal Monastery of Saint George al-Humayr in the Christian Enclave of Syria.

The residence will host approximately 400 members from the various Orthodox clergy systems of Damascus and the wider region until September 21, 2026.

In his opening remarks, Bishop Romanos of Seleucia highlighted the importance of understanding the Orthodox clerical vocations and roots, which date back to 1912, making this movement the first of its kind in Syria.

He also extended warm greetings to the leader of the Residence, the leaders of all clergy groups, and the invited guests.
