Unique concert with Evanthia Reboutsika at Toplou Monasterytranslated

On the evening of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the internationally renowned and recognized music composer and violinist Evanthia Reboutsika captivated the audience in the courtyard of the iconic Holy Monastery of Toplou in a unique concert, which, despite the adverse weather conditions, many of our fellow citizens had the opportunity to enjoy. The Municipality of Sitia was responsible for organizing the event, which is part of the Parallel Action "Women - Cultural Heritage - Creation: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future", which is being held this year for the third consecutive year, alongside the Festival of the Region of Crete.

This year, the "Women" action had a special goal of highlighting the Minoan Culture, and through it, the Minoan woman and her role: a woman with a strong social, religious and symbolic presence, as the monuments and findings of our culture reveal to us.

The event, sponsored by the Region of Crete, was attended by Rev. Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Sitia Mr. Kyrillos, the Mayor of Sitia Mr. Giorgos Zervakis, the Deputy Governor of Lasithi Mr. Ioannis Androulakis and many of our fellow citizens.
