Three days of local mourning in the Municipality of Amari for the two firefighters who lost their lives in the line of dutytranslated

Three days of local mourning, from today July 30th until August 1st, was declared by the Municipality of Amari by the decision of the mayor Pantelis Mourtzanos, as a sign of honor and gratitude to the two firefighters, Emmanuel Stratidakis and Panteleimon Diamantakis, who lost their lives during the extinguishing operation of the large fire in the Krya Vrysi area of the Municipality of Agios Vassiliou. The decision points out that the local community pays due respect to the two firefighters, who demonstrated the highest sense of self-sacrifice and duty to protect human life and the natural environment.
As part of the three-day mourning period, flags will fly at half-mast in all municipal shops, buildings and facilities of the Municipality of Amari.
At the same time, all festive, cultural, sports and entertainment events organized or held under the auspices of the municipality during August are suspended, while the municipality will be officially represented at the funeral processions of the two firefighters.
