The Hellenic Red Cross and the Lung Association of Greece organize a clean-up action on Eden beachtranslated

The Hellenic Red Cross (E.E.S.), in collaboration with the Union of Pulmonologists of Greece, is organizing a large environmental action to clean up Eden beach (P. Faliro), with the participation of 50 elementary school students, on Tuesday, July 21, from 09:30 to 11:30, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and volunteerism. The great environmental action will be attended by the President of the Hellenic Red Cross, Dr. Antonios Avgerinos, as well as the President of the Union of Pulmonologists of Greece, Mrs. Stamatoula (Mata) Tsikrikas.

During the action, the 5th and 6th grade students from the summer camp of the Municipality of Papagos - Cholargos, under the guidance of volunteers and staff of the Youth Section of the Hellenic Red Cross, will participate in cleaning the beach, while receiving information on the effects of marine pollution, climate change and human activity on ecosystems.

At the same time, the Union of Pulmonologists of Greece will highlight the close connection between environmental protection and the health of the respiratory system, focusing particularly on the harmful effects of smoking and air pollution.
