The Metropolitan of Peristeri at the signing ceremony of the contract for the creation of the National Model Center for Dementiatranslated

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the contract signing ceremony, at Megaro Maximos, for the creation of the National Model Center for Dementia, which will be the cutting edge of the wider national intervention for the care of people with dementia, Alzheimer's and related disorders. At the ceremony held on the morning of Monday, October 1, 2026, the Metropolitan of Peristeri, Mr. Grigorios, also attended. The National Standard Center will be developed and housed in a ground floor area of 724 square meters in Peristeri, in a building granted by the Holy Metropolis of Peristeri. It will provide, among other things, integrated care services, such as mental empowerment, occupational therapy and music therapy, prevention, diagnosis and systematic follow-up services, counseling support for relatives and caregivers, even through telemedicine, as well as educational programs for health professionals, caregivers and young scientists.
At full development, the new structure will serve up to 160 beneficiaries per day, patients and carers, and around 5,000 per year free of charge.
