Elder Chalcedon Emmanuel to Patriarch of Georgia: "We await you with joy at the Ecumenical Patriarchate"translated

The upcoming meeting that will be held by the new Catholic Patriarch of all Georgia, Mr. Sio III with the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew soon in Fanari was at the center of the meeting that the Georgian Primate and Hierarchs had with the Metropolitan Elder of Chalkidonos Mr. Emmanuel.  Mr. Emmanuel visited yesterday, Sunday, August 16, 2026, the headquarters of the Patriarchate of Georgia with a warm welcome and a very good atmosphere for the discussion.

Metropolitan Geron Chalkidonos conveyed the greetings of the Ecumenical Patriarch and congratulated the new Patriarch of Georgia on his election and enthronement.  The discussion initially focused on the ties that connect the Church of Constantinople with the Church of Georgia.

A special mention was made to the blessed Patriarch of Georgia Mr. Ilias II, whose funeral procession was presided over by the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew. For his part, the Patriarch Mr. Sio III once again expressed his public thanks to the Primate of Orthodoxy and his presence in this great event for the Church of Georgia.
