One hundred years of life and faith in the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Ano Agios Konstantinostranslated

With special emotion and spiritual joy, the Holy Prayer was held on Monday, August 10, 2026 in the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ano Agios Konstantinos, with the participation of the political and military Authorities of the island and a multitude of pious pilgrims, on the occasion of the completion of one hundred years since the restoration and renovation of the Holy Church from the ruins (1926-2026). The Holy Church, whose history goes back to earlier years, has been for a century a living testimony of faith and a sacred point of reference for the residents of Ano Agios Konstantinos. The anniversary was celebrated with simplicity, prayer and the ethos of the Church, in the oppressive atmosphere of the days of the Fifteenth of August.

The day was particularly moving and for another anniversary, it was thirty years since the entry into the Priesthood of the vicar of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Fr. Nektarios Tzaferis, who for almost three decades served the Parish and its people with devotion.
