Thessaloniki: Solemn High Priestly Divine Liturgy in commemoration of Saint Makrintranslated

July 19, 2026 · 1 min read

On Saturday, July 18, His Holiness the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, officiated at the Holy Stock Chapel of Agia Makrinis, which belongs to the Holy Sanctuary of the Resurrection of the Lord - Emmaus in memory of Agia Makrinis. During the High Priestly Divine Liturgy, our Bishop preached the divine word, referring to the wonderful life of Saint Makrin. Nuns from the Holy Dormition Monastery of Panorama sang in the sacred lectern, while the congregation was attended by nuns from the Holy Sanctuary of the Resurrection of the Lord - Emmaus, led by the elder Philothei.

Before the dismissal, His Holiness blessed the bath of Agia Makrini. Afterwards, the High Priestly Memorial Service was held in favor of the blessed memory of the late builders.

I
Ioana RaduIt was nice to see that the nuns from Panorama sang and that Saint Macrina blessed the hut. I'm glad that the memorial for the founders was also made, it's a good thing to remember them.
