September 3, 2026 · 1 min read

On the evening of Wednesday, September 2 to Thursday, September 3, 2026, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands Mr. Nektarios held a Holy Vigil on the feast of the Retrieval of the Holy Relics of Saint Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis the Wonderworker, in the chapel of the same name of the Holy Monastery of Saints Theodoron in Middle Corfu, where His Eminence lives after a small entourage. The Holy Vigil is held every year in a particularly oppressive atmosphere, with the participation of delegations from the monastic brotherhoods of the island, as well as monks and nuns from other regions.

Yes, it's the same dates again this year, 2-3 September. I noticed they mentioned Father Nikolaos Monastiriotis among the chanters too – he always adds such a steady, clear voice to the choir. Hope you make it from Larissa next time, Georgia; the vigil really is worth the trip.

The vigil's always on the same dates, yeah. Nice they named Father Nikolaos Monastiriotis this time; his steady voice really does hold the choir together. I remember how quiet and full the chapel felt last year when I drove over from the city after work.
