MFA: Practical support of the Greek State is the ratification of the Memorandum with the Patriarchate of Jerusalemtranslated

With the ratification of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Greek State practically strengthens the preservation, protection, scientific study and promotion of the particularly important religious, historical and cultural heritage of the Patriarchate. In its announcement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that: "The Memorandum, which was signed in Athens on June 8, 2026, establishes a ten-year long-term cooperation framework. The focus is on Holy Pilgrimages, churches and monastic complexes, works of art and relics, as well as the valuable wealth of the Historical Archive and the Patriarchal Library."
Within the framework of the Memorandum, fixed annual funding of 1 million euros is foreseen for the implementation of the agreed actions, with equal participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.
