Dimitriados Ignatios: "After every Golgotha there is always the Resurrection" (VIDEO)translated

The greatest feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was solemnly celebrated by the local Church of Demetrias, on the two days of September 13-14. Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias, Mr. Ignatios, during the Great Solemn Vespers of the holiday, officiated at the celebratory Church of the Holy Cross in Kato Gatzeas, in the presence of a large number of pilgrims.

In his speech, His Holiness first referred to the joyful nature of the holiday and the importance of the Cross for the life of Christians: "The celebration is joyful, like the joy of Saint Helen when she found the Holy Cross. It was great joy for her and for all, until today, faithful Christians. Because the Holy Wood was found, on which our Christ was crucified". Our Christ, with His voluntary sacrifice, made the Cross "the symbol of the salvation of the human race", which has since been a point of reference, strength and hope for the faithful.

At another point, Rev. Ignatius pointed out that the Cross is both an invitation and a challenge for every Christian: pointing out that “Christ calls us to be his imitators. He himself told us that anyone who wants to be His disciple must carry his cross on his shoulders"....
