Metropolitan of Didymoteicho: The Archangel Michael and the Prophet Ezekieltranslated

Among the valuable relics kept in the Parish Church of Timiou Prodromou in Neo Chimionio Orestiados is a door from the parapet of the iconostasis of the old Church of Agios Ioannis from the Great Zaloufi of Eastern Thrace, from where the refugee ancestors of the current residents of the settlement started in 1922. This relic bears a certain historical date in the year 1894 and depicts the Archangel Michael at the top and the Prophet Ezekiel at the bottom. The relic, after it was recently preserved and restored with the diligence and care of the active vicar of the parish of Protopr. Antonio Tsombanidis and was placed in a wooden shrine, which now adorns the Church in a prominent position.
