Handing of fifteen Readers by Archbishop Makarios of Australia in Sydneytranslated

With a brilliant Triarchate Divine Liturgy, led by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios, the solemn worship events in honor of the Holy Martyr Elesis, Patron Saint of Kythera, culminated on Sunday, August 2, in the celebratory Parish of the Resurrection of Christ, Panagia Myrtidiotissa and Saint Elesis in Kogarah of Sydney. Collaborating with the Archbishop were the Theophilist Bishops of Melbourne Mr. Kyriakos and Mr. Christodoulos of Magnesia, Chief Secretary of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Australian Archdiocese and Priestly Head of the Parish of Kogarah. Among others, the Head of the Public Diplomacy Office of the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney, Mr. Athanasios Lambrou, who represented the Consul General, Mr. Georgios Skeberis, and the President, Mrs. Varvara Zantiotis, after the Board of Directors of the Kytheraic Brotherhood of Australia, attended the church.

Fifteen young readers in one go at Kogarah – that’s a lot of new voices for the Epistle. I hope the Archbishop’s words stayed with them; it’s a real responsibility they’ve taken on. Nice to see the Kytherian Association out in force too.
