Perth: Seven adults entered the Orthodox Churchtranslated

The Holy Diocese of Perth continues to record strong and ever-increasing interest from people who wish to embrace the Orthodox Christian faith. In the context of this growing attendance, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Most Reverend Bishop of Perth, Mr. Elpidios, performed the Sacrament of Holy Baptism for seven adults, at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in West Perth, after the completion of their period of catechism, under the guidance of the Archpriest of the Ecumenical Throne, Fr. Emmanuel Stamatiou.

The neophytes received the names Theophanes, Spyridon, Prokopios, Zoe, Sara, Michael and Seraphim during their Holy Baptism.

This is the second group Baptism that takes place in the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in 2026, after the first one that took place last May. To date, a total of 21 people have joined the Orthodox Church through Holy Baptism this year, while a new group Baptism is planned for October.

Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 46 people, coming from different social and cultural backgrounds, have been baptized Orthodox in the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos.
