With an Archiepiscopal Divine Liturgy celebrated on the morning of Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the liturgical commemorations continued in Corfu at the packed Holy Shrine of Saint Spyridon, in remembrance of the extraordinary miracle by which Saint Spyridon saved Corfu on August 11, 1716. This followed an all-night vigil attended by many faithful. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by Most Reverend Metropolitan Chrysostom of Chalcis, Isthia, and the Northern Sporades, with the participation of Most Reverend Metropolitan Nikiforos of Gortyn and Megalopolis, Most Reverend Bishop Dionysios of Cotiaeum (Assistant to the Metropolitan of Italy), and his own Archpastor, Most Reverend Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu, Paxi, and the Diapontian Islands.
