Metropolitan Ioannis congratulates Eleni Grigorakis on her election to the Parliament of Zambatranslated

Eleni E. Grigoraki, of Greek origin, was elected to the new Parliament of the Republic of Zambia during the General Elections held on August 13, 2026. Mrs. Grigoraki was elected Member of Parliament in Kafoulafouta Electoral District no. 028, with the United Party for National Development (UPND), winning a competitive election contest that also featured five independent candidates.

Ms. Grigoraki's electoral victory, after a highly competitive race against five independent candidates, is not only a personal triumph but also a source of great honor and pride for the entire Hellenism of Zambia.

His Eminence the Metropolitan of Zambia and Mozambique, Mr. Ioannis, immediately contacted the new Member of Parliament in order to express his warm congratulations and sent her a congratulatory letter, in which, among other things, he states:

"Your election is a bright symbol of perseverance, contribution and determination. We are confident that you will serve the people of Kafulafuta with integrity, humility and dedication, setting a bright example, especially for the new generation and the women of our homeland."
