Reception of the Holy Icon of Panagia Portaitissa in the Holy Church of Agios Nikitas in Lefkadatranslated

With the appropriate majesty, the Holy Parish Church of Agios Nikitas, in the homonymous district of the island, welcomed the copy of the miraculous Holy Icon of the "Our Lady of Portaitissa" of the Holy Monastery of Iberon of Mount Athos, which is permanently located in the Holy Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos of Paneromenis Lefkada. The Holy Icon of "Our Lady of Portaitissa" was carried on the afternoon of Thursday, July 30, 2026, from the said Holy Monastery, accompanied by the Professor, Panosiology Archimandrite Fr. brotherhood, of the pious believers and a delegation of the dance department of the Cultural Association of Sfakiots "O Foteinos", dressed in the noble traditional costume of Lefkada.

This was followed by a Grand Solemn Vespers with a mass of bread and a divine sermon, presided over by the Professor of the Holy Monastery of Faneromeni Lefkada, Fr.
