The University of Ioannina collaborates with the Holy Archdiocese of America for the promotion of Greek traditional dancetranslated

The service of Greek traditional dance and culture of the Holy Archdiocese of America and the University of Ioannina signed a cooperation agreement aimed at preserving Greek cultural heritage and teaching traditional dances. This agreement enables both entities to develop joint academic, cultural, and educational activities, with a focus on maintaining and teaching the Greek traditional dance and culture, as well as developing related educational materials.

The new service was approved by the Holy Synod in October 2025 following the initiative of the Most Reverend Archbishop of America, His Beatitude Elpidophoros. The goal is to preserve, promote, and transmit Greek culture as a living expression of Orthodox faith.

This collaboration aims to combine academic research and knowledge with the vibrant cultural tradition of the Hellenic community in the United States, fostering cultural continuity for future generations.
