It is important to return, after 10 years, from perhaps the greatest event of the Orthodox world at the dawn of the third millennium and to make an assessment and self-criticism about the impact of the decisions of the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church, which took place in Crete in 2016.
This Synod was, as is known, the end of a long period of preparation and the beginning of a new one for Orthodoxy. The decisions of the Holy and Great Synod were crystallized in the form of six extensive, densely written and comprehensive texts, which should act as guideposts for the path of the members of the Orthodox Church.
