Kydonias Titos in the "Kountouriotis" frigatetranslated

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apokoronou, Mr. Titos, upon invitation, paid a ceremonial visit to the Frigate "Kounduriotis" (F-462) of the Navy, which is located in Chania. His Eminence was received by the Commander of NATO's Standing Allied Naval Force 2 (SNMG2), Commander-in-Chief George Kypriotis PN, and the Commander of the Frigate "Kountouriotis", Captain Ilias Stavropoulos PN, together with officers and crew members.

During the heart-felt meeting, a discussion was held about the special spiritual period we are going through, in view of the great Mother of God feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as about the special conditions of life and service of Navy officers at sea.

The officers asked for His Eminence's wishes and prayers for the holy days of the Virgin Mary, but also for the safety and success of their mission. His Eminence wished the Blessed Virgin Mary, the shelter and protection of our sailors, to accompany and protect them on every voyage and in every mission.
