Brilliant celebration on the "holy island" of Tinos - Thousands of pilgrims for Megalochari (VIDEO)translated

Tinos welcomes thousands of people who arrive on the island from every corner of Greece and from abroad. People who come to worship the Virgin Mary, light a candle, fulfill a wish or find themselves in a place that for two centuries has been associated with faith, hope and human trials. Yesterday evening, the Great High Priestly Vespers of the Metropolitan of Mani, Mr. Chrysostomou, was held. Contributed by Rev. Metropolitans of Chios, Psara and Oinoussa Mr. Markos and Mr. Dorotheos of Syros.

A memorial service, an invitation to the dead and the laying of wreaths at the cenotaph of the cruiser "Elli" were also held, 86 years after it was torpedoed by an Italian submarine, on the day of the Virgin Mary.

This morning, a brilliant High Priestly mass was held by the preeminent Metropolitan of Chios, Psara and Oinnous, Mr. Markos. The Metropolitans of Mani Mr. Chrysostomos and Mr. Dorothos of Syros collaborated.

The Divine Word was preached by the Metropolitan of Chios Mr. Markos who referred to the face of the Virgin Mary and his connection with Genos and the island of Tinos because of which it received the name "holy island".
