The memory of Saint Timothy Archbishop Evripos in Kalamos Atticatranslated

The memory of our Holy Father Timotheus Episcopos Evripos, builder of the Holy Monastery of Penteli, was commemorated in his place of origin, Kalamos Attica, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the Holy Exoclisio where there was an old hermitage of the Saint. Saint Timotheus was born in Kalamos, Attica in 1510. His father was the priest of the village, who taught him the first letters. He received the best possible education of his time, in the schools of Athens. His main teacher was the bishop of Oreon in Northern Evia, who inspired him to embrace monasticism and ordained him a deacon and elder. From then on, his spiritual offering to the church and the subservient to the Turkish people of the region began. After the death of his elder bishop he was elected bishop of Oreon.
