The Sunday before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Holy Metropolis of Chalkidostranslated

On the Sunday before the raising of the Holy Cross, September 13, 2026, the Most Reverend Pastor, Metropolitan of Chalkidos Mr. Chrysostomos visited the seaside Parish of St. Theodoron of Pefki in North Evia, where, in the Holy Church of the same name, he officiated at Orthros, presided over the Divine Liturgy and preached the divine word. In his sermon, the Reverend Mr. Chrysostomos described the revealed theology about the Cross of Christ, as described by Jesus Christ himself and recorded by the evangelist John the Theologian (John 3, 13-17). He pointed out the importance of the relationship of the Orthodox with the Holy Cross and the value of the testimony of our faith in the Cross of Christ.

Shortly after the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the young children of the Catechetical School, together with the vicar of the Parish, Father Michail Michail and the Catechists, Mrs. Archontoula Papadopoulou-Ravanou and Magdaleni Farandou-Alexiou, received and welcomed in their own, moving, way their Reverend spiritual father, who expressed his joy and thanks to the children.
