Our Holy Church, amid the joy and splendor of the Fifteenth of August, does not easily part with the great feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For eight days she remains spiritually before the holy event and today, during the performance of the feast, she repeats her hymns, tropes and joyful message. It is as if he is calling us once again to stand mentally in Gethsemane, around the most precious tabernacle of the Mother of the Lord, and to understand her mystery more deeply. Because the Dormition of the Virgin is not a day of mourning. It is an Easter in the summer, a celebration of life's victory over death. The Virgin Mary dies according to the common human law, but her death becomes a sleep, a transition, an entrance into eternal life.
