The Holy Cross Monastery Valaam was visited yesterday, July 10, 2026 by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Mr. Cyril. During his visit to the historic Monastery, the Patriarch consecrated the "Zoodochos Pigi" chapel located on the north side of the outer square.

Today, Sunday, July 12, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Mr. Cyril celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Monastery.

Blessed is the day that the chapel of Zoodochos Pigi was consecrated. Balaam has always given me the impression that it holds something of the old struggles, as the Patriarch said. I am glad that he also celebrated the Divine Liturgy today.
