Kefalonia honors its Patron Saint Gerasimos – The program of the celebrationtranslated

The memory of Agios Gerasimos, Patron Saint of Kefalonia, will be honored with particular splendor this year, with the focus of the Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos Omalon. The Holy Diocese of Kefallinia and the Holy Monastery have drawn up the program of the celebration which will culminate on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The program in detail: SATURDAY 15-08-2026 TIME 5.30 p.m. Holy Prayer before the First Tabernacle and its passage to the new First Temple where the Little Vespers will sing.

TIME 9.00 p.m. Great Vespers of the holiday with the participation of Venerable High Priests and then Pannychis until 4 am.

SUNDAY 16-08-2026 TIME 7.00 AM Orthros and subsequently High Priestly Collector.

TIME 11.00 am Litany of the I. Tabernacle with the participation of the Clergy, Nuns of all the I. Monasteries of the I. Metropolis, the Officials and the People.

TIME 12.00 p.m. Holy Litany and placement of the Holy Tabernacle inside the new First Church to continue the pilgrimage.

TIME 5.00 p.m. Vespers at the Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos.

TIME 8.00 p.m. Holy Prayer at the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos of Argostoli.
