Our Metropolitan Mr. Anthimos in Rethymnontranslated

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, our Venerable Metropolitan, of Alexandroupolis, Mr. Anthimos, hosted in Crete by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Prodromos, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Agios Antonios, in Prine Rethymno.

After the Divine Liturgy, the six-month Sacred Memorial of the blessed Protopresbyter and Hierarch Father Dimitrios Bebis, who served the Church and education, offering for a number of years to the family and the local community, was held.

In his address, the Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos referred with emotion to the personality and work of the deceased, characterizing him as a "priest teacher", "exemplary cleric", family man and man of God. As he noted, Father Dimitrios had the ability to "unite, unite and rest" people.

Mr. Prodromos underlined that even the memorial was an occasion for meeting and unity, as it brought together people from Crete and Evros.
