Preparation meeting and Consecration for the new catechetical year in Karditsatranslated

On the occasion of the start of the new catechetical year, yesterday, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Spiritual Center of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon in Karditsa, the meeting for the start of the new catechetical season took place. In the context of the meeting, His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus referred to the importance of the catechetical work and the need for substantial preparation of those who undertake the ministry of catechesis. As he noted, the new church year is another opportunity to give children and young people the truth and experience of the Church, with responsibility, study and love. In this context, and with the aim of more substantial preparation for the catechetical work of the new period, the Pantheological Archimandrite Fr. Nikolaos Ioannidis, Professor of the Theology Department of the Theological School of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, was invited to speak.

Father Nikolaos developed the theme "General Catechesis", referring to the theological importance of catechesis, its timeless necessity in the life of the Church and the responsibility of those who undertake to transmit the Orthodox faith to children and young people.
