Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev of all matters: From the presidency of TEES to the new ministrytranslated

His desire to spend the rest of his life in silence, dedicated to divine worship, study and writing, was expressed by the complacent Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev. Speaking in full to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the former President of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate referred to the decision to remain in Russia and serve at the Stavropegian Women's Monastery of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, in the Moscow region. At the same time, he presented the new writing projects he is preparing, while he was repositioned for the case of his arrest in the Czech Republic, claiming that the prohibited substances found in his car had been placed by third parties.

He remains in Russia to care for his mother By decree of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Mr. Kirill, which was issued on July 29, 2026, the implementation of a previous decision, dated June 3, according to which Metropolitan Hilarion was to go to Brazil, was temporarily suspended.

Dragan MarkovićIt's not easy when your mother gets old, I completely understand. It's good that he stayed in Russia instead of going to Brazil, and that story with the Czech Republic still seems strange to me - who puts things in someone else's car? I hope that now he will calmly write books and serve in the monastery.
